Group Deputy Managing Director & Executive Director

Patrick Umunna is the Group Deputy Managing Director and an Executive Director of Matrix Energy Group, with over 27 years of senior leadership experience across commercial banking, corporate finance, energy-sector financing and enterprise performance management.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and an MBA and has completed senior executive training, including the Senior Management Program at Lagos Business School. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants, a Certified Management Consultant and an Honorary Senior Member of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria.

Before joining Matrix, he held senior leadership roles at Premium Trust Bank, Polaris Bank, Equitorial Trust Bank and Standard Trust Bank, with extensive exposure to oil and gas financing, trade finance and large-scale portfolio management. At Matrix, he supports the GCEO in driving strategy execution, financial discipline and operational performance across the Group's revenue-generating businesses, including Upstream.
