Overview

Atamba Field is located in the coastal swamp of the Niger Delta in Delta State. The field was discovered in 1992 by the Atamba-1 well and was subsequently awarded to Matrix Energy Group following the 2020 Marginal Field Bid Round.

AEPL has progressed the field from re-entry and appraisal into active development. The current drilling programme includes Atamba-3, a horizontal well designed to support field development, while Atamba-4 incorporates deeper exploration objectives.

AEPL is leveraging Matrix E&P's in-house drilling capability through the 2,000 HP land rig procured by MEOSL to support the Atamba development programme.

Atamba represents an integrated oil and gas development within Matrix E&P's portfolio, combining drilling, production infrastructure, gas monetisation and crude evacuation solutions, with opportunities for future development synergies with nearby stranded fields.

Atamba-1 finds the field

Atamba Field is discovered by the Atamba-1 well, in the coastal swamp of the Niger Delta, Delta State.
