Head, Upstream Business

David Kayode is a Petroleum Engineer with over 32 years of upstream oil and gas experience spanning reservoir engineering, production engineering, field development and asset management. He leads Matrix E&P's upstream business, with responsibility for asset development planning, technical execution and delivery across the portfolio.

He is a First-Class graduate of Petroleum Engineering from the University of Ibadan and holds a National Diploma in Mining Engineering. His career includes senior technical and leadership roles with Texaco Overseas Producing, Conoil Producing and SAPETRO, where his responsibilities covered reservoir management, reserves evaluation, production optimisation, drilling and workover planning, field development and economic evaluation.

At Matrix E&P, he coordinates the key upstream functions spanning subsurface, drilling, engineering, HSSE and production, ensuring that asset work programmes remain aligned with business priorities, regulatory requirements and execution plans.
